It is a well known meeting takes place between february and march. The root of the tradition must be looked for centuries back, during the Repubblica Serenissima of Venice. At that time, the city government gave the population, specially the worse-off people, a long term entertainments and celebrations. It was the custom on wearing masks in order to keep obscurity and to avoid the economical gaps.

Today again, Carnevale is a popular and traditional event, impressive and artistic, that involve people from all over the world. The two days most famous are thursday before lent and mardì gras.

Carnevale has typical delights: together with the venetians winter dishes, Frittelle and Galani are the sweets served just during Carnevale time.
